All Decked Out! Throw an impromptu gathering in the fresh air tonigt :-)

Busy summer months often have us running with no time to relax. But not tonight! You'll be outside in minutes with a tasty meal in hand! Today's yummy duo is Philadelphia Beef sandwiches and Honey mustard coleslaw!

Philadelphia Beef Sandwich

Prep/ Total time: 20 min. Serves: 6


  • 1 round loaf (1 lb.) unsliced Italian bread
  • 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 large green pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 cup concentrated au jus sauce
  • 1 lb. thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 3 Tbs. horseradish sauce
  • 7 slices mozzarella cheese



  1. Cut bread in half. hollow out bottom and top of loaf carefully, leaving a 3/4 in. shell (discard removed bread or save for another use.)
  2. Saute onion and green pepper in oil in a large skillet for 5 min. or until tender. Meanwhile, combine water and au jus sauce in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Add beef. Reduce heat to med.; cook for 3 min. or until meat is heated through. Remove beef with a slotted spoon; reserving 1/4 c. au jus.
  3. Spoon onion and green pepper onto the bread bottom. Top with beef; drizzle with reserved au jus. Spread with horseradish sauce and top with cheese.
  4. Transfer to a baking sheet. Broil 3-4 in. from the heat for 1-2 min. or until cheese is melted. Replace bread top. Cut into six wedges with a serrated knife.

Honey Mustard Coleslaw

Prep/ Total time: 10 min. Serves: 5


  • 1 pkg. coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbs. honey
  • 1 Tbs. cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon-pepper seaoning
  • 1/8 tsp. celery seed







  1. Place coleslaw mix in a large bowl. Combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over coleslaw mix and toss to coat. Chill until serving.
