Molasses-Glazed Baby Back Ribs

These ribs have a secret ingredient...Coke! It's used in the marinade! I guess it's no secret anymore!

Prep: 20 min. + marinating  Grill: 70 min.   Makes: 4 servings


  • 4 1/2 lbs. pork baby back ribs
  • 2 liters cola
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
BARBECUE SAUCE

  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 1/4 c. honey
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  •  1 Tbs. prepared mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. salt












  1. Place the ribs in a large resealable plastic bags; add cola. Seal bags and turn to coat; refrigerate for 8 hrs. or overnight
  2. Drain and discard cola. Pat ribs dry with paper towels. Combine the seasonings; rub over ribs.
  3. Prepare grill for indirect heat, using a drip pan. Place ribs over pan; grill, covered, over indirect med. heat for 1 hr., or until tender, turning occasionally.
  4. In a small bowl, combine barbecue sauce ingredients. Brush over ribs; grill, covered, over med. heat for about 10-20 min. longer or until browned, turning and basting occasionally.
