Let's talk about SMOOTHIES baby!!

When you're in a rush who doesn't LOVE a delicious, easy, nutrient-packed meal in a glass! All you have to do is toss ingredients into a blender; cover and process until smooth and serve in a chilled glass!


Berry Delicious Smoothie

Prep/ Total time: 10 min. Serves: 4

  • Combine 1 1/2 c. fat-free strawberry Greek yogurt;3/4 c. acai mixed berry v8 juice blend; 1 c. each frozen, unsweetened strawberries and blueberries; 1/2 c. each frozen, unsweetened raspberries, blackberries and pitted dark sweet cherries; 1/4 c. what bran and 1 tsp. ground flaxseed.
Cost: $1.88 per serving







Super Mango Smoothie

Prep/ Total time: 10 min. Serves: 2

  • Combine 1 1/2 c. peach mango juice blend, 1 c. each frozen pineapple and mango chunks, 2 Tbs. each 2 % cottage cheese and ground flaxseed, and 1 Tbs. toasted wheat germ.
Cost: $2.85 per serving.







Green Breakfast Smoothie

Prep/ Total time: 10 min. Serves: 2


  • Combine 1 c. crushed ice; 3/4 c. unsweetened apple juice, 2 c. fresh baby spinach; 1 med. pear, coarsely chopped; 1 med. ripe avocado, peeled and cubed; and 3 Tbs. honey.
Cost: $1.64 per serving.








Sunny Breakfast Smoothie

Prep/ Total time: 15 min. Serves: 2


  • Combine 1/2 c. fresh baby carrots and 2 Tbs. water in a microwave-safe bowl; cover. Microwave on high for 2-3 min. or until carrots are tender. Drain and rinse in cold water. Toss carrots into blender with 1 can (11 oz.) drained mandarin oranges, 1 c. frozen unsweetened sliced peaches, 1/2 c. orange juice, 1/2 c. crushed ice, 1/2 c. silken firm tofu and 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon.
Cost: $2.14 per serving.









Blueberry-Oat Smoothie

Prep/ Total time: 10 min. Serves: 3

  • Combine 1 c. unsweetened apple juice, 1 c. vanilla yogurt, 1 c. frozen unsweetened blueberries, 1/2 c. quick-cooking oats and 2 Tbs. maple syrup.
