Best-Ever Fried Chicken

July 6th is national fried chicken day! Celebrate with this amazing fried chicken recipe! Your family will thank you!

Prep: 15 min.    Cook: 15 min.   Makes: 4 servings


  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbs. dried thyme
  • 1 Tbs. paprika
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/3 c. whole milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbs., lemon juice
  • 1 broiler/fryer chicken (3 to 4 lbs.), cut up
  • oil for deep-fat frying















  1. In a shallow bowl, mix the 1st five ingredients. In a separate shallow bowl, whisk the milk, egg and lemon juice. Coat chicken pieces, one at a time, with flour mixture; dip in milk mixture, then coat again with flour mixture.
  2. In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375 degrees. Fry chicken, a few pieces at a time, for 6-10 min. on each side or until chicken juices run clear. Drain on paper towels.
