New Orleans Garlic Chicken

Need a fresh new take for chicken? You'll love the pleasant seasoning in this simple recipe.

MAKES: 2-3 servings


  • 1-1 1/2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 c. cilantro leaves
  • 4 Tbs. olive or vegetable oil, divided
  • 5 slices white bread, crumbled
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 Tbs. fresh lime juice or lemon juice
  • 1/4 c. white wine
  • sour cream (optional)








  1. In food processor, combine garlic, cilantro and 1 Tbs. oil. process until pureed. Set aside half of mixture.
  2. Add bread and process on high for 1 minute, until well blended. Dip chicken breasts first in flour, then eggs, then bread crumbs mixture.
  3. Heat remaining oil and saute' chicken breasts until browned and cooked through. Remove chicken from pan. Add remaining cilantro mixture, lime or lemon juice and wine. Deglaze pan and reduce mixture slightly. Pour over chicken. Serve with dollop of sour cream if desired.
NOTE: you may omit white bread for regular store-bought bread crumbs.
